The Moses Lake Fire Department provides emergency medical services to the community of Moses Lake. We operate five advanced life support (ALS) ambulances that are staffed 24 hours by cross-trained Firefighters/Paramedics and Firefighters/EMT’s. We also operate one ALS ambulance during the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday thru Friday, that is staffed with a single-role Paramedic and a single-role EMT.
The Moses Lake Fire Department ambulance service gets its revenue from several different sources. The first is through insurance monies collected for patient transports. The second is through a City-wide Ambulance Utility Fee that is collected from users of City provided utilities. Each utility customer pays a small monthly fee, usually between three and four dollars. This fee is based on the cost to run the service and the annual revenue collected. By paying the fee, any City resident that is transported by a Moses Lake Fire Department ambulance will not pay any money out of pocket. We are very fortunate to be able to provide this service to our customers. And finally, the ambulance service is funded by a very small annual contribution from the City’s general fund as provided for by law.
If you have any questions regarding the emergency medical services provided by the Moses Lake Fire Department of the Ambulance Utility Fee, please contact Chief Tom Taylor at (509) 765-2204.
